We started by signing the red book then divided ourselves into groups. We were selected to work at Wildlife centre to mantain lights. We started by testing so that we can found out exactly what is wrong. The problem was the lights were burned but the current was fine(passing through when testing). We replaced the lights then everything was ok. After lunch we did activity 4.

16 July 2009 Lethabo power station

It was a nice trip going to Lethabo power station because we learned many things.Lethabo power station is where Electricity is produced.We have learned many things include electricity that is produced at a coal fired, Generation on business plant mix, convention of energy, turbine, distribution of energy etc. At Lethabo production of electricity is the convension of other forms of energy into an electrical current and electricity from coal: which mean coal is burned to heat water and convert it into steam, the steam is directed into teh blades of a turbine to make it spin, this in turn spin the magnetic rotor inside the coil to generate electricity. One the steam has passed through the turbines, it must be cooled & condensed. The cooling process turns the steam back into water so that it can pumped back to the boiler for heating. In the boiler it will be turned into steam again and will restart the cycle.

We started by signing the red book then fill in the job card for the yersterday's job. We continued with the yesterday's job by pulling the cable till to the massage spa. It was much complicated because it has to pass through the pipe and it always blocked by soil.

We started by signing the red book then we went near picinini and dig the trench to trace the pipe for the cable which we must connect it,we found the pipe and cut it and pull the cable with draw wire so that the cable can pass into the pipe. Finally we baricated the trench so that it can be builted by bricks. We baricated by dropels and danger tape
